HTML5, Programming

Last night I attended a great HTML5 talk by Todd Anglin at the North Dallas .NET User Group.

Here are a few of the great links he shared during his presentation:

1. http://www.html5laboratory.com/
Shows you what browsers support various html5 features & has examples of how to use the new markup elements.

2. http://wufoo.com/html5/
Shows browser support for HTML5 web forms enhancements

3. http://www.browserscope.org/
Shows browser specs.
For example, click on the Network tab & look at the “Max Connections” and “Connections Per HostName” columns.
Interesting stuff!!

4. http://caniuse.com/
Shows html5 feature availability by browswer.
For example: http://caniuse.com/#search=canvas

5. http://html5shiv.google.code.com/svn/trunk/html5.js is a link to the js file that helps ie<9 enable html5 elements
(not sure about this vs modernizr)
More info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTML5_Shiv

6. http://www.lesscss.org/
Enables vars with css files.

7. View source on this link: http://ishtml5readyyet.com/

8. And last but not least, AN HTML5 Spe… “Tadpole” GAME:

You just have to see this one :-)

Hi, Ian from HTML5 Laboratory here. Pleased to see my (neglected lately I’m afraid) site up there, and even more surprised to hear that it was mentioned in a talk! Thanks!
